Job Location Downriver Wastewater Treatment Facility, 797 Central Avenue Wyandotte, Michigan United States 48192 The Downriver Utility Wastewater Authority (DUWA), or Owner, is soliciting an invitation to bid from Contractors to replace the existing Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system at the Downriver Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 797 Central Street, Wyandotte, MI 48192. The scope of work includes removal of the existing UV disinfection system (Trojan UV4000), which is housed in four of the five existing concrete channels, and replacement with a new UV disinfection system (Trojan UVSigna) in all five existing concrete channels. All work will be completed inside of the existing UV Disinfection Building and will also include associated instrumentation and control and electrical improvements, minor structural improvements, new modulating weir gates, and other associated ancillary components. The new UV equipment provided by the Named Manufacturer was established under a separate Request for Proposal process to UV System Suppliers. The Contractor will execute a general contract for construction of the UV System Supplier's system with the Owner. The UV equipment included as the Named Manufacturer was established under a separate Request for Proposal process to UV System Suppliers (UVSSs), and included herein as the specified equipment with set equipment price as established during the RFP process. The Contractor will execute a general contract for construction of the new UVSS system with the Owner. Upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed from the DUWA. a. The Contractor will issue a Purchase Order directly to the UVSS for purchase of the UVSS equipment. Purchase Order shall be released no later than June 1, 2024, based on anticipated equipment lead time and contract completion date. b. DUWA has already issued a Purchase Order to the UVSS during design phase to complete the shop drawing process and the Engineer has accepted the submittal ready for fabrication. c. The Purchase Order between the Contractor and the UVSS will be a separate agreement than the Purchase Order between DUWA and the UVSS. The Contractor shall negotiate separate terms and conditions before this Purchase Order which shall be acceptable to DUWA. 3. The project scope includes a visual and nondestructive conditional inspection as noted in this section. The condition of all concrete elements, inaccessible during facility operation, affected by the project scope, shall be assessed prior to the start of demolition and construction. Delamination, scour, rebar corrosion, or any other defect that may impair the structural integrity or water tightness of the channel shall be brought to the attention of the Engineer of Record. Event Note During the pre-Bid conference, representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are required to attend and participate in the conference. In response to questions arising at the conference, Engineer will issue Addenda as Engineer considers necessary. Minutes of the meeting will be distributed as part of an Addendum. Bidders are responsible for legibly signing the attendance list and for making sure their names appear on the attendance list which will be attached to the minutes of the pre-Bid conference. Bids from bidders not listed will not be opened.
