Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Garland, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials not supplied by the Owners, and equipment necessary to complete the following items in accordance with the intent of the specifications. The work to be completed under these specifications and drawings includes, but is not limited to, the following: Coordinating one-call locator service for marking of existing subsurface utilities. Potholing or excavating where necessary to verify location of subsurface utilities. Installation of erosion control and all temporary measures as required for access. Mobilizing to site including all temporary facilities, equipment, and incidentals as necessary. Traffic Control Plans, Barricading, Guards, and Devices, for work adjacent to and crossing public roads . Construction of direct embedment foundations including all excavation, dewatering, slurry where necessary, and incidentals. Install new steel poles along right-of-way in their appropriate locations and orientations. Install specified material and equipment on the new steel poles. Install new distribution phase and neutral conductors on the new steel poles. Terminate existing distribution phase conductors and neutral at construction limits as indicated in the plans and details. Conductor and pole removal as shown on the project plans . Removal of all temporary staging and access facilities installed by Contractor. Restoration of right-of-way. Final clean up. The Contractor will need to coordinate his work plan around available line outages generally with the ability to restore line within 24-hr notice. Actual outage plan and distribution construction phasing and sectionalizing shall be coordinated with GP&L. The work is more fully described in the balance of these Specifications and Construction Drawings (referred to hereinafter as Drawings), Bill of Materials, Construction Bid Items, and Steel Pole Fabrication Drawings. To obtain the necessary geotechnical information required for evaluation of subsurface soil conditions supporting the structures, twelve (12) borings were drilled to depths of about 20 to 30 feet below the existing grades. The soil test borings were performed at locations selected by ECS and approved by the client. A laboratory-testing program was also implemented to characterize the physical and geotechnical engineering properties of the subsurface soils. This is an evaluated bid. Please pay close attention to the information requested on the Construction Contractor Evaluation Criteria and Grading Sheet and provide a complete and organized response. Failure to provide a price for each line item or provide the requested information could deem your bid response incomplete and therefore non-responsive. Owner Rights: City reserves the right to request a best and final offer upon completion of negotiations Award must be made to the vendor submitting the most advantageous offer considering the relative importance of price and other evaluation factors. Bond Notes: A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% is required with your bid response. A Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond (2 yrs) is required upon award. Liquidity Damages : Liquidated damages for failure to complete project on time: refer to Liquidated damages section of this specification book. Once the Contract Inspector has determined that the feeder lockout was caused by or attributable to the acts or omissions of Contractor, the City may (in each case) elect to terminate the Contract and pursue its legal remedies or require the Contractor to pay liquidated damages in the amount equal to the summation of the following formula: [[(Load of Feeder at the time of Lockout, kW)] X [(Active Residential Rate/kWH)] X [(Time Duration of Outage, hours)]] + GP&L Rates + Replacement Material Cost for each occurrence. The City may, at its election, deduct any liquidated damages from the amount of any approved invoices submitted by the Contractor. Owner Rights: Owner's Representative reserves the right to reject any materials and work quality that is not considered to be up to the highest standards of the various trades involved. Such inferior material or work quality shall be repaired or replaced as directed, at no additional cost to the Owner. Question Deadline 03/14/2024 at 5:00 PM CT
