The City of Maryville is requesting proposals from qualified firms for the milling and installation of hot-mix asphalt within the City of Maryville. The request is an opportunity for qualified contracting firms to present proposals to the City of Maryville for consideration. The job shall conform to the Missouri Prevailing Wage Laws Annual Wage Order No. 30. All bidders shall comply with the requirements of Section 285.530 RSMo, E-Verify, and OSHA Safety Training. The City of Maryville is requesting proposals for the milling and placement of hot-mix asphalt on various city streets within the community. The selected contractor will be responsible for all milling and overlay work aspects in the areas identified herein. All measurements in the bid specifications are estimates and the contractor is responsible for independently verifying each location. The apparent low and most competent bid will be presented to the City Council for formal approval. The successful firm will receive a contract from the City of Maryville to perform the work as submitted in the proposal documents. All work must be started within fifteen (15) days of Notice to Proceed. There will be a total of ninety (90) calendar days allowed for this project from the date of the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The successful contractor will work with staff to determine a project completion timeline. Liquidated damages of $750.00 per day will be assessed to the contractor for not completing the contract within the specified time frame. The City of Maryville will require the contractor to be licensed to perform work in the City of Maryville. Thus, a City of Maryville contractor's license will be required. The Contractor shall furnish and maintain during the life of this Contract adequate Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance. This insurance is to protect the City, Contractor, and any subcontractor performing work covered by this Contract from claims for damages for personal injury, including accidental death, and from claims for property damages that may arise from operations under this Contract, whether such operations be by itself or any subcontractor or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either of them. Said Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance shall provide a minimum coverage of no less than one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) per occurrence and two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) aggregate. This amount shall be effective before Notice to Proceed, being given, and said amounts shall be adjusted by the Contractor annually pursuant to Sec. 537.610, RSMo or its successor. A bid bond for $5,000.00 must accompany the bid. A performance bond for 100% of the Base Bid contract amount or an authorized letter of credit must be submitted with the final contract award.
