Renovation of a museum in Whiteville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,824-square-foot, two-story above grade museum.
**This is a rebid frrom 05/01/25 opening** The existing elevator and elevator controls at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville require renovation and modernization. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to, updating controls, updating car fixtures, and evaluation of the door operators, car & hoist way door equipment, roller guides, hoist machines, hoist motors, governors, and wiring. Bid alternates will be included for the potential addition of CCTV video in cars which would be connected to the existing museum security system. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Project includes the modernization of (1) one traction elevator. Project also includes electrical power/emergency power, lighting (machine room and elevator pit), fire alarm interface, plumbing (associated piping and controls) and HVAC support/upgrades for elevator equipment room for this elevator modernization.
