2024 Earth Road Upgrade 1 includes upgrading 1 mile of existing earth roads to gravel. The contractor shall commence the work on the sites no later than July 8th 2024. Working days shall start on July 8th 2024 or the first day the works are started, whichever date occurs first. The Contractor will be penalized $500.00 per day, for each day work is not complete after the 30 working days. The Rural Municipality of Rockwood is looking for proposals to upgrade one mile of earth road surface to a gravel surface. o Organics must be stripped off the shoulders of the existing road and windrowed onto the side slope of the ditch to be used on the edge of the new road. The Material will be blended in and track compacted once the graving is completed. o The existing earth road will be reclaimed, reshaped and compacted. Reclaiming will be done to a minimum depth of 150mm. The reshaping will start at Road 80N and continue to Road 81N. o Reshaping will be done to meet a 3% cross fall and a width wide enough to accommodate a 7.5-meter road top when finished gravelling. Proper compaction equipment and water will be used to meet compaction requirements. o Gravel will be placed to a compacted depth of 150 mm.
