Qualified Electrical Contractors will be required to work in compliance with all applicable laws, trade regulations and SFU policies, as may be amended from time to time, as well as terms of applicable Work Orders. Qualified Electrical Contractors will be required to be available on short notice for priority repairs and be able to respond within 2 hours for emergency repairs. (2 hour duration from receipt of phone call to arrival on site.)
Electrical contractor may subcontract Data work. Data cable installer must be Belden Certified Cable Installer.
Electrical and Data scopes of work may, but not be limited to:
Electrical power distribution systems (service voltage under 750V)
Fire alarm systems including all interlocked, auxiliary, and ancillary equipment
Security systems (access controls, intrusion alarm, CCTV, panic response)
Campus lighting and lighting control systems
Exit and emergency lights
UPS systems
Emergency power generation, transfer and distribution systems
Heat trace cables
Motorized window shades
Motor drive controls.
Electrical power to all Electrical units including HVAC and plumbing equipment.
Score boards
Wheelchair accessible lift monitoring
Electric screens
Building elevator electrical systems
Street lighting
Electric vehicle charging systems
Pathways and infrastructure for BMS/IT/telecom/AV equipment (power receptacles, conduit, grounding, cable trays, etc.)
Grounding and bonding systems
Electrical interface and pathways for other ancillary systems such as sound masking equipment, PA speakers, leak detection sensors etc.
Electrical interface for miscellaneous electrified systems such as basketball backstops (if applicable), automatic door operators etc. 1. Commercial general liability insurance (including products and completed operations coverage) having a limit of not less than:
(a) $2,000,000 per occurrence for Work Orders valued up to and including $75,000; and
(b) $5,000,000 per occurrence for Work Orders valued above $75,000; The selected Proponent(s) are to be included on SFU's list of Qualified Electrical Contractors for a period of one (1) year, with an option in favour of SFU to extend the term for inclusion on the list for an additional two (2) one (1) year terms. The Work Order set out at Appendix "F" and the Terms and Conditions set out at Appendix "A" of this RFSQ will apply to any work awarded to selected Proponents during the subsequent terms on which they may be included on SFU's list of Qualified Electrical Contractors. See Appendix "C" Rate Bid Form for the process by which Rates may be adjusted for any subsequent terms that a Proponent is selected by SFU to remain on the list of Qualified Electrical Contractors. agreement on the same terms and conditions for additional two (2) terms of up to one (1) year each term.
SFU anticipates the following time periods for the term(s) for the of Qualified Electrical Contractors it intends to select during this RFSQ process to apply:
Year 1: August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025
Optional Year 2: August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026
