Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in West Sayville, New York. Working plans call for site work for a golf course; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for the construction of a 1-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.

As of June 12, 2024, project is not accepted. No definite date for rebid. The work consists of the following: New Building addition consisting of site demolition, site reconstruction and existing building alteration - new construction for a single-story masonry and wood frame parks facility. Contract No.3- HVAC Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total Base Bid, made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. This bid bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and properly secured. Any questions regarding this project shall be directed to Kenneth E. Phalen. R.A. at (631) 8524222. The Commissioner of Public Works reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The General Construction Contract shall include but not be limited to the following: 1. Civil Removal Site Scope of Work includes the following: a. Provide construction staging b. Prepare site area for new building addition c. Prepare site area for new concrete apron d. Contractor also responsible for site restoration once the project is complete 2. Civil Site Scope of Work includes the following: a. Site work related to building addition b. Existing drywell to remain, clean as directed by Engineer in charge c. Provide concrete slab for new AC-unit and mechanical unit d. New concrete apron e. Contractor to verify underground utilities and all existing services f. Contractor to verify existing first floor elevation and adjacent proposed addition 3. Architectural Removal Scope of Work includes the following: a. Remove equipment as indicated, including window air conditioner unit b. Remove plumbing fixtures c. Remove walls, doors and windows where indicated (maintain existing door frames where indicated, removing door leaf only) d. Remove exit signs where indicated e. Remove light fixtures where indicated f. Remove ceiling mounted heaters where indicated g. Remove exterior block wall for new opening, salvage block h. Remove exterior lighting 4. Architectural Scope of Work includes the following: a. The existing finished floor elevation of the existing building is indicated on the Contract Drawings. An existing survey is part of the Contract Documents for reference. The new building addition top of first floor slab to match existing first floor slab. Contractor to verify elevations and report any discrepancies prior to commencing work. b. New door leaf within existing frames c. New wall partitions, infill and furring within existing building d. New building addition, wall partitions, doors, overhead doors, corner guards, windows, louver, ceiling, interior finishes and exterior finishes e. Exterior walls to be insulated block f. Provide accessory fixtures as indicated g. Provide thermal envelope components including insulation as indicated h. New roof structure, roof membrane system, gutter and leader drainage system i. See MEP scope for additional fixtures and equipment 5. Structural Scope of Work includes the following: a. New building foundation, haunch slabs and reinforcing b. New building slab and reinforcing c. Coordinate with incoming utilities d. Provide below grade rigid insulation board vertically and horizontally as indicated e. New exterior walls grouted, headers and lintels as indicated f. Blocking, bevel plates, stiffeners etc as indicated g. Exterior concrete pad for mechanical equipment h. Exterior concrete apron, coordinate with civil site work 6. Mechanical Removal Scope of Work includes the following: a. Remove equipment as indicated, including window air conditioner unit b. Remove wall fan c. Remove electric baseboard d. Remove electric wall heater e. Remove ceiling electric unit heaters 7. Mechanical Scope of Work includes the following: a. Provide condenser unit b. Provide toilet room and grinder room exhaust fans c. Provide diffusers, supply, return, and exhaust ducts and associated assemblies as indicated d. Provide air furnaces, cooling coil, energy recover unit e. Provide gravity ventilators, rooftop vents as indicated f. Provide hanging supports, coordinate with Architectural and Structural Drawings 8. Plumbing Removal Scope of Work includes the following: a. Remove plumbing fixtures and piping, including an exterior water spigot 9. Plumbing Scope of Work includes the following: a. Provide plumbing fixtures and piping, including but not limited to, toilet, urinal, hand sink, eye wash, slop sink, break room sink, hose bib, electric water heater, etc. b. Provide gas piping 10. Electrical Removal Scope of Work includes the following: a. Remove electrical outlets and switches b. Remove exterior light fixtures c. Remove interior light fixtures where indicated d. Remove electrically powered equipment as indicated 11. Electrical Scope of Work includes the following: a. Provide emergency lighting wall packs and exit lights as indicated b. Provide new interior and exterior lighting and lighting controls as indicated c. Provide electric power and signal to equipment, lights, outlets and switches 12. Fire Alarm Scope of Work includes the following: a. Refer to Electrical Drawings for new Fire Alarm system and devices being provided 13. Scope Items being performed by others not part of base bid a. Furniture and casework to be removed and/ or relocated by SCDPW b. Break room millwork by SCDPW (plumbing fixtures by General Contractor) 1. Bid Alt - G1 - ADD Alternate - Construction of cold storage portion of building (south area) including walls, roof, foundations, structural members, openings and other related components and assemblies as indicated. 2. Bid Alt - M-1 - ADD Alternate - As related to G1 Bid Alt - Cold storage room ductwork and associated components. 3. Bid Alt - E-1 - ADD Alternate - As related to G1 Bid Alt - Cold storage room interior and exterior lighting and power. 4. Bid Alt - P-1 - ADD Alternate - To provide piping, compressor and all and all appurtenances for the compressed air system. 5. Bid Alt - E-2 - ADD Alternate - Electrical work associated with the air compressor. 6. Bid Alt - G-2 - ADD Alternate - To provide Hydraulic Lift (electrical work part of base bid). Completion- 130 calendar days Question Deadline 04/04/2024 No oral interpretation of the Drawings, Specifications or other Contract Documents will be given to any bidder. Every request for such interpretation shall be addressed in writing to the Commissioner of Public Works and must be received at least five (5) days prior to the date set for the opening of the bids.
