Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
The project consists of rehabilitation of approximately 1,300 linear feet of existing taxiway, the construction of an approximately 700 feet of new taxilane, 9,500 SY of reconstructed apron, and 7,000 SY of new apron for future hangar development. The scope encompasses all erosion control, storm drainage installation, earthwork embankment, fine grading, asphalt milling and removal, asphalt paving, electrical lighting and signage, pavement markings, turfing and other related work as shown on the drawings and/or in the specifications. The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders or offerors that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age, or disability inconsideration for an award. The DBE participation goal for this contract is 10% in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. A DBE Assurance Statement must accompany each bid for that bid to be considered. Each bid must be by a contractor licensed in Tennessee and accompanied by a 5%Bid Guarantee. In accordance with TCA 62-6-119, the Bidder, and where applicable, one contractor/subcontractor performing electrical work must have its license number, expiration date of the license, and the classification applying to the bid shown on the outside of the envelope containing the bid. Failure to supply all information on the outside of the envelope will result in the return of the unopened envelope to the Bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. Liquidated damages for delay in contract completion shall be as stated in the Contract Documents. No Bidder may withdraw an opened bid within the defined period following actual bid opening without CMAA's consent. Award will be made to the lowest responsive qualified Bidder, if awarded. If awarded, this project will be funded through federal grants, revenue bond proceeds and CMAA funding. The CMAA reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities, technicalities or omissions therein. The CMAA also reserves the right to reject any bids from Bidders who have claims or litigation pending against the CMAA and to reject the bid when a parent, subsidiary, affiliate, or predecessor in interest of the Bidder has claims or litigation pending against the CMAA when the CMAA determines such claims or litigation may adversely affect the ability of the CMAA to work efficiently and effectively with the contractor, or adversely affect the ability of the contractor to perform under the contract.
