Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in East Hampton, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The Town of East Hampton Connecticut is soliciting sealed bids for The Replacement of Wopowog Road Bridge No. 041011 Bid Documents shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Office of the Town Manager, 1 Community Drive, East Hampton, CT 06424 and clearly marked SEALED BID-WOPOWOG ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT This project consists of all necessary work to complete improvements as described on the Contract Plans and Specifications for the lump sum base bid. The work generally consists of the complete replacement of the existing corrugated metal pipes and wingwalls with a new precast concrete box culvert. The box culvert will be directly procured by the Town of East Hampton. The work also includes the installation of cast-inplace concrete headwalls, wingwalls, cutoff walls, roadway reconstruction (excluding paving), placement of metal beam rail, associated regrading and turf restoration, and other miscellaneous site work as shown on the plans or directed by the Owner. The Town of East Hampton, Connecticut is soliciting sealed bids for completing the Wopowog Road Bridge Replacement over Safstrom Brook. The project involves removing existing twin corrugated metal pipes using a cofferdam and water handling system and installing a 12'x6' precast concrete box culvert with four new cast-in-place concrete wingwalls with headwalls and cutoff walls. The precast box culvert will be directly procured by the Town of East Hampton. Additionally, 185 feet of roadway will be reconstructed (excluding paving) and outfitted with new metal beam rails Any request from a prospective Bidder for interpretation of meaning of Contract Drawings, Specifications or other Contract Documents shall be made in writing to the office of Barton and Loguidice, LLC. 41 Sequin Dr. Glastonbury, CT 06033 and to be given consideration must be received at least three (3) days prior to date fixed for opening of proposals. Interpretations will be made in the form of written Addenda to Contract Documents, which Addenda shall become a part of the Contract. Such requests may be sent to Barton and Loguidice, LLC via email to kfletcher@bartonandloguidice.com. Addenda will be posted at the Town's Website. It is the responsibility of the bidder to verify that all Addenda have been received and incorporated into the submitted bid. Failure of any Bidder to receive any such Addenda shall not relieve Bidder from any obligations under his proposal as submitted. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect Funding for this project is provided by the Town of East Hampton. Work for the project described above includes furnishing, installing and incorporating all materials and equipment into the project (unless otherwise noted) as well as performing or providing all labor, supervision, equipment and services unless otherwise noted within the bid documents. Contractors shall provide a minimum of three references for projects of similar size to verify they're qualified to perform the work. Contract documents, pdf format, can be obtained from the Town's website under online and the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Construction Services website. A satisfactory Bid Bond or Certified Check, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The Bid Bond shall be made payable to Town of East Hampton and shall be properly executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties. All bonds must be from sureties registered in the State of Connecticut. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date of Bid opening. The Town of East Hampton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, bids or proposals; to waive any technicality in any bid or part thereof, and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of East Hampton.
