Renovation of a multi-residential development in Providence, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
The Providence Housing Authority is seeking qualified vendors for the removal and replacement of the existing steel hydronic distribution piping with new pex piping, as well as the replacement and relocating of circulator pumps, expansion tanks, shutoff valves, fittings, hangers, insulation, and other specified system components in the nine (9) boiler rooms and twenty-eight (28) basements and crawl spaces belonging to the Chad Brown development located in Providence, RI, as part of the Hydronic Piping Repairs - Chad Brown & Admiral Terrace project. Question Deadline 03/18/2024 at 2:00 PM ET Address all pre-bid questions or requests for information pertaining to this project and bid documents to Roxana Rosario, Junior Project Manager, via email at rrosario@provhousing.org with a CC to Roy Messier, Senior Project Engineer, rmessier@verdantas.com. Scope of Work: {Detailed in Appendix E; Bidders are responsible for all information contained within the Project Book and Plans & Specifications} 1. For buildings 21 March, 61 March, and 37 Berkshire Street, remove and replace all hydronic piping 2½” and below with PEX, and replace conduits and wiring for circulators. * Please Note: Existing steel hydronic distribution piping has already been replaced in buildings 37 Berkshire, 61 March, and 63 March Street. 2. For buildings 53 March, 61 March, 63 March, 65 March, 37 Berkshire, and 57 Berkshire Street, all 4” steel piping is to be removed and replaced with Copper Type L. Provide dielectric unions as needed. 3. Remove and replace existing circulation pump with Grundfos Magna 3 Model D 65-120 F and connect power and controls to existing. No substitutions. 4. Remove main supply and return piping starting from underground PERMA-PIPE PEX-GARD fitting (do not cut back PERMA-PIPE PEX-GARD piping) – except in boiler rooms – where there is limited demolition. 5. All fittings for PEX-GARD piping leading to the exterior of the building, including buildings 262 Chad Brown, 283 Chad Brown, 291 Chad Brown, 100 Fillmore, and 124 Fillmore Street to be replaced. 6. Replace existing steel pipe riser from the basement up to the living space units with new PEX and/or copper. 7. In buildings with boiler rooms – remove distribution piping from inlet to circulation pump (new isolation valve to be provided by Contractor). 8. All piping 3” and below to be pre-insulated PEX A from Uponor, Watts, or MrPEX. 9. Transfer piping thru buildings to be Type L copper. 10. All insulation to be closed-cell ArmaFlex. 11. Isolation valves to be added for each building. 12. Distribution system per plans. 13. All PEX A and copper piping to be installed per manufacturer’s recommendations. 14. Remove and replace all expansion tanks within crawl spaces, whether in use or abandoned. 15. Remove and dispose of all existing unit heaters and associated piping / wiring within basement crawl spaces.
