Splash Pad The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Question Deadline 03/22/2024 at 4:00 PM ET Project Scope Statement The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a one-time contract with a design-build firm to provide all labor, administration, design, equipment, materials, permitting and construction of a splash pad and associated facilities. The intent is for the splash pad to serve as both a visual feature and an inviting children's play area. Features shall promote areas of multiple children playing together while using the splash. The splash pad shall be approximately 2,500 (min) square feet of wetted surface, with adjacent overspray area, and will be located within Nassau Crossing Park, located at 77500 William Burgess Blvd, Yulee, FL 32097. Respondents shall submit pricing, accompanied by a conceptual design which includes equipment listing and specifications, piping layout with sizing and water spray feature layout with specifications. The cost for Civil site design/permitting and construction for the related site improvements shall also be included in this Contract. The design-build firm shall be responsible for final grading within the limits of the splash pad and related improvements construction. Respondents may submit more than one conceptual plan with their proposal. Project Requirements and Provisions for Work The successful respondent is responsible for design and permitting of all aspects of this project to include the overspray area, splash pad, walkways, site lighting, grading, restorative landscaping and drainage. Sidewalks are required for access to the Splash Pad from the street to the Splash Pad and Restroom, location based on equipment placing. The Design-Builder will be expected to provide conceptual and detailed design, supply and installation of splash pad equipment as necessary for the complete functioning of the splash pad system. In addition, it is required that incidental and minor items, specified or implied by the nature of this type of work, be completed within the Proposer's scope of work. The Design-Builder shall be responsible for preparing all necessary permit applications. The Design-Builder will be responsible for processing the required building permit as well as any required trade permits in accordance with the Florida Building Code and Nassau County building department requirements. All permits required for a construction activity will be acquired prior to commencing the construction activity. Delays due to incomplete permit packages, agency rejection, agency denials, agency processing time, lack of payment, or any permit violations shall be solely the responsibility of the Design-Builder and will not be considered sufficient reason for time extension. Changes to the concept requiring additional permitting activities are the responsibility of the Design-Builder. General Splash Pad Design Requirements 1. Design shall meet all applicable code requirements; including, but not limited to, Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 64E-9 and Florida Building Code Section 454. Design will include, but is not limited to Design of re-circulating system, including pumping, filtration, and disinfection. 3. Zero contained depth with gravity flow, non-suction drains. 4. Components to be stainless steel (304) not limited to ground features, some may be aerial. IE: buckets or water curtains. 5. Components design and colors should supplement or complement existing character of the County. 6. The County would prefer American made components such as Vortex or Rain Drop. 7. Minimum of 30 in-ground sprays of varying styles. 8. Minimum of 20 in-ground LED lights that can be set in various display options. 9. Operation bollard to be installed directly inside main gate. 10. Up to 2 above ground spray rings, must be in rustic metallic finish. 11. Wet deck area shall be a non-skid material suitable for wet, chlorinated environments and withstand extreme UV. 12. A minimum four-foot-wide wet deck area shall be provided around the splash pad, with no more than 50% of the wet deck area obstructed and comply with Florida Department of Health codes. 13. Concrete to meet required strength and specs set out by manufacturer/design plans. 14. No more than 4 features shall be fed by one supply line. 15. ADA compliant throughout the splash pad area. 16. Splash Pad coating shall be concrete. 17. Overspray area shall be concrete. 18. The total concrete pad area for the splash pad to be approximately 3,300 square feet . 19. Two (2) separate seating areas to each accommodate up to three (3) 72" long benches and one (1) 32- gallon Thermoplastic steel coated trash can with top. o Bench seat with back, thermoplastic coated steel, frame 2 7/8" outer diameter, surface mounted, colors to be determined.
