In general, there needs to be more collaboration in order to quicken the pace of development, according to Ed Aldridge, chairman of the Johnston County Economic Development Advisory Board and vice president of business development for RiverWild. "In today's market, time is money," Aldridge said. "So there's got to be more collaboration between developers, industries and all that with the towns and counties. When you're talking about a development that not long ago would take you 24 months to carry through the process, versus if it is now taking the 48 to 60 months to carry through the process, all of those costs associated with that end up getting rolled into the final product."
