Craning will be necessary during the modernization process. The successful elevator vendor shall carry all costs for craning, permitting, and street closures in their Base proposal. This project is not turn-key. A new project bid form has been provided for final bid submissions that removes the “Associated Building Work” line item. A. Extent of work in this section is to renovate three (3) electric traction geared passenger Elevator Nos. 1 - 3 in the 444 South 5th Street building, Louisville, Kentucky, as noted in the elevator schedule. The schedule indicates elevators to be renovated, required performance, control, capacities, features, and finishes for the group of elevators. B. Electric traction elevators are hereby defined to include elevators in which cars are hoisted by ropes over power driven traction sheaves, complete with components, equipment, machines, controls, and devices as indicated and as required for safely operfating elevators at rated speed and capacity. C. Time is of the essence, the Contractor in this section shall provide an aggressive, written schedule, detailing specific tasks for the elevators and critical dates for the completion of related work. This schedule shall be acceptable to the Owner. The elevator shall be renovated per this schedule. Once work begins on site, the Elevator Contractor shall keep appropriate manpower onsite continuously until completion.
