Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Aurora, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Location: Various streets (7.165 miles) located in the geographic area of the City west of the Fox River, but also includes areas east of the Fox River which are north of the BNSF railroad tracks. Proposed Improvement: Approximate quantities of work to include Curb and Gutter Removal & Replacement (9,460 FT), Sidewalk Removal & Replacement (30,980 SQ FT), HMA Surface Removal (128,200 SQ YD), Class D Patches var. (1,470 SQ YD), Polymerized HMA Binder Course, IL-4.75 (5,711 TON), HMA Surface Course (10,014 TON), Thermoplastic Pavement Markings (various), Structure Adjustments, Landscape Restoration and other related items. The City encourages minority business firms to submit proposals and encourages the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract. Prequalification of Bidders is required for this project. Contractors or subcontractors with either the 003 or 005 prequalification code will be allowed to be the paving contractor. The 2 low bidders must file within 24 hours after the letting an Affidavit of Availability (Form BC 57), showing all uncompleted contracts awarded to them and all low bids pending award. All proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guaranty as outlined in the Proposal form.
