The work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials in performing all operations necessary in connection with the application of a crack sealant in complete and strict accordance with ODOT Item 423, Crack Sealing, Type II or IV, of the 2023 Construction and Material Specifications, dated 01/01/23, and Supplemental Specification 800, dated 01/19/24. A list of road segments that are to be sealed or re-sealed is provided on the following pages. Lucas County reserves the right to add or delete road segments as necessary to fulfill the plan intent and stay within budgetary constraints. The sealant manufacturer's technical representative shall be notified by the Contractor and shall be responsible for product quality. The manufacturer's representative shall be present during the installation to assure proper application, as directed by the Engineer. Operations and procedures, which are considered by the representative as being detrimental to the effectiveness of the sealant, will not be permitted. Lucas County reserves the right to obtain random samples of the sealant during application for testing purposes. Samples will be sent to an independent testing laboratory to ensure material specification conformance. Defective materials or those not meeting the required specification shall be removed immediately and replaced in an acceptable manner at the Contractor's expense. However, low bidder must submit original prior to award of project.
