This Project is referred to as the "Door Control System" and shall include all labor, material, transportation, and equipment required to replace/upgrade the current system. he sealed bids may be mailed or delivered to the Platte County Sheriff at the Detention Facility, 1125 E. 17th St., Columbus, NE 68601, or the Sheriff's Office, 2610 14th St., Columbus, NE, and should be plainly marked as, "Door Control System Bid Proposal- Detention Facility". Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the County Sheriff of Platte County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to include an estimated time of beginning and completion for the project with its Bid Proposal. Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to acceptance by the Platte County Sheriff and the Platte County Board of Supervisors. Platte County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age and disability/handicap in consideration for award. The Platte County Sheriff, and the Platte County Board of Supervisors, reserve the right to reject any and all bids, or to waive any irregularities in bids received. Award of the Contract will be in accordance with the County Purchasing Act's competitive bidding considerations as set forth in Neb.Rev.Stat. 23-3110 to 23-3114.
