Bid came in over budget. Unsure if they plan to rebid at this time. The means and methods of construction will be ultimately determined by the selected contractor. However, we would encourage the selected contractor to perform the work by coordinating with Structural Engineer who developed the plans, and contract with him separately on inspections and recommendations depending on the specific means and methods. City of Watkinsville Park Project. Replacement of 420 linear feet, 6-foot-wide, pedestrian boardwalk at Harris Shoals Park using all new materials, pressure treated wood or composite lumber, new framing, decking, and railings (existing timber pilings will remain and not be replaced), and exterior finishing. Project shall be in compliance with applicable standards and codes. The selected contractor will supply and install all labor materials and equipment to install the boardwalk. Completion of the project is to be within 30 days of the formal approval of the contract. Watkinsville reserves the rights to: waive minor informalities or irregularities, reject any or all proposals, evaluate proposals, accept any proposal deemed in its best interest, and add or delete from the contract once preliminarily awarded. Any award will be to the most responsive, responsible proposer. The selected contractor will meet with the City to negotiate and prepare a contractual agreement, as soon after the selection as is reasonable.
