Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Watkinsville, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of Watkinsville is requesting proposals from qualified vendors for the installation of approximately 1,880 linear feet of ADA-compliant pedestrian and bicycle friendly, concrete sidewalk (ranging in width from 10-foot wide to 6-foot wide) along Simonton Bridge Road from the Simonton Place neighborhood to Cemetery Road. Work to include extension of existing 30" RCP near Watkinsville Cemetery and extension of 18" CMP near Simonton Place as part of the Simonton Bridge Road/Mulberry Connector Project. All work shall be to the Georgia Department of Transportation specifications and include the installation of ADA compliant handicap ramps where required along the route. Traffic control is to be provided by the contractor throughout the entire construction period. Construction of these sidewalk segments will further facilitate safe travel for citizens and visitors alike. Proposals shall be enclosed in sealed envelopes, addressed to the City Clerk of Watkinsville, 191 VFW Drive, Watkinsville, GA 30677 with the name of the Offeror, and the date and hour of opening on the face of the envelope. Telegraphic/faxed proposals will not be considered. Any addenda should be signed and enclosed in the sealed envelopes as well. The City reserves the right to reject or accept any or all proposals and to waive technicalities, informalities and minor irregularities in proposals received. Failure to observe any of the Instructions and/or conditions in this Request for Proposal may constitute grounds for rejection of proposal. Question Deadline 09/10/2024: Any explanation desired by an Offeror regarding the meaning or interpretation of the Request for Proposal, drawings, scope of work, etc. must be requested five (5) working days prior to Proposal opening, unless otherwise specified, in order for a reply to reach all Offerors before the close of Proposal. Any information given to a prospective Offeror concerning a Request for Proposal will be furnished to all prospective Offerors as an addendum to the Proposal if such information is necessary or if the lack of such information would be prejudicial to uninformed Offerors. The written Proposal documents supersede any verbal or written communications between parties. Receipt of addendum should be acknowledged in the Proposal. Although the City will take effort to send any addendum to known Offerors, it is the Offeror's ultimate responsibility to ensure that they have all applicable addenda prior to proposal submittal. This may be accomplished via contact with Mark Campbell, P.E. prior to proposal submittal. The work shall be commenced within twenty (20) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed within seventy-five (75) calendar days thereafter, unless otherwise specified. For additional work, the contractor shall commence work within fourteen (14) calendar days of request and proceed without undue delay until work is completed. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK SCOPE All Work as described in the Technical Specifications is subject to the inspection of the City of Watkinsville. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to coordinate with the City of Watkinsville for inspection services. All work shall meet or exceed the Georgia Department of Transportation's, Standard Specifications for the Construction of Roads and Bridges, latest edition and any amendments thereto. SCHEDULE The work shall be commenced within twenty (20) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed within seventy-five (75) calendar days thereafter, unless otherwise specified. For additional work, the contractor shall commence work within fourteen (14) calendar days of request and proceed without undue delay until work is completed.
