The work will consist of brush cutting, tree removal services and removal of all generated debris in accordance with the performance specifications herein, within the Culpeper District in the median of Interstate 64 in Louisa County between Mile Marker 137.58 and mile Marker 138.1 The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, equipment, fuel, and traffic control, to include all equipment as required per the most recent version of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM) and any other incidentals necessary to meet the requirements stated within. The work shall consist of brush cutting, tree pruning, tree removal services, and removal of all generated debris for the purpose of enhancing safety for the public. The Contractor shall be capable, prepared and plan to commence work within two (2) calendar days of award of this IFB. Once work has commenced, the Contractor shall work consistently until all work is completed The Commonwealth further reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigations of, such bidder fails to satisfy the Commonwealth that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to provide the services and/or furnish the goods contemplated therein. PREVAILING WAGE RATE: The provisions of laws requiring the payment of a prevailing minimum wage rate are incorporated in and expressly made a part of this Contract. The Contractor and the Contractor’s subcontractors shall pay wages, salaries, benefits, and other remuneration to any mechanic, laborer, or worker employed, retained, or otherwise hired to perform services in connection with the Contract at a rate at least equal to the prevailing wage rates determined by the Virginia Commissioner of Labor and Industry for work to be performed under this Contract, as outlined in Attachment. The wage determination establishes the rates that must be paid for the entire term of the Contract Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be submitted in writing to rosalie.alther@vdot.virginia.gov no later than five (5) calendar days prior to bid opening date/time. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued because of any questions or other matters raised.
