The County of Louisa invites qualified masonry contractors to submit bids for providing various masonry services on an "as needed" basis, if at all. The County of Louisa invites qualified masonry contractors to submit bids for providing various masonry services on an "as needed" basis, if at all. The County is seeking a standard hourly rate and an overtime hourly rate from an established masonry contractor with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in commercial, residential and industrial masonry work. The County will award a one-year term contract with the selected masonry contractor. The contract may be renewed, upon mutual agreement, for up to two (2) successive one (1)-year terms. Services contracted during any part of a term will continue through completion of the services without regard to the end of the term and without obligation to renew the agreement. The scope of services assigned under any contract resulting from this IFB will vary according to County requirements. The potential tasks identified in this IFB are for information to the Bidder. Tasks shall not be construed to represent any amount which the County shall be obligated to purchase under the contract, or relieve the Firm of his obligation to fill all orders placed by the County. No bid will be considered which stipulates that the County guarantees to order a specific quantity of any service. The services anticipated under the resulting contract include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. General repair of existing masonry structures, such as patching, pointing, and brick and block replacement. 2. Construction of brick and block walls and structures. 3. Construction of masonry retaining walls. 4. Cleaning of masonry veneers after construction. 5. Cleaning of masonry veneers with a power washer for general maintenance. Cleaning will always be performed during non-business hours and will only have one rate that will reflect cost of labor during evening and weekend hours. 6. Mixing of all types of mortars and cements. 7. Caulking/sealing of decorative masonry capstones. 8. Demolition of existing masonry walls/structures. 9. Installation of steel lentils. 10. Installation of flashings, reglets, weeps, and expansion joints. Bidders may submit any questions or requests for additional information regarding the project in written format by Tuesday, May 7, 2024. All questions shall be directed to Sam Massie at smassie@louisa.org or via fax at (540) 967-3439. A formal clarification will be sent out in writing on Thursday, May 9, 2024, to all known potential bidders.
