Contract work is for the widening of University Blvd. to six lane divided road and intersection improvements, from New Territory Blvd. to 1000 LF South of Lexington Blvd. The University Blvd. widening consists of reconstruction of inside lane curb sections and intersection improvements at Lexington Blvd., US 59 Frontage Roads, Telfair/Wescott Ave., Brandford Pl., and New Territory Blvd. Work includes clearing and grubbing, removals, relocation of irrigation pipes and valves, grading, landscaping, widening construction of concrete pavement, base and curb; reconstruction of pedestrian ramps and sidewalks, placement of pedestrian poles and ground boxes, signal timing and re-wiring; adjustments to signal heads and placement of signs and pavement markings. Traffic control consists of maintaining barricading along at each end of project, reducing traffic using barrels to one-lane throughout project during day construction, and utilizing detours. The Contractor is responsible for establishing and maintaining a storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) in accordance to the erosion control measures shown in the plans. The contractor must provide the information for Section 4 of the TCEQ Notice of Intent (NOI). The contractor will be designated as the Primary Operator and the City will be the Secondary Operator.
