145 & 183 Gorham Street Elevator Upgrades. Work consists of elevator upgrades at two mid-rise buildings with matching equipment and finishes. Project includes a new generator for emergency power to elevator. The Project consists of: Elevator upgrades at two mid-rise buildings with matching equipment and finishes. Includes cables, counterweights, machine, car, cab interior, and door replacement. Installation of steel access door and hardware to elevator pit. Project Location: 145 Gorham St. & 183 Gorham St., Lowell, Massachusetts The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Elevator upgrades at two mid-rise buildings with matching equipment and finishes. Purchasing and ordering of all equipment to be simultaneous, but installation to be staggered in coordination with the LHA. 2. Elevator upgrade, including cables, counterweights, machine, car, cab interior, and door replacement, battery lowering device. 3. Installation of steel access door and hardware to elevator pit. 4. Repair, scrape, and paint metal frame at elevator door, six floors. 5. Install a conditioning and ventilation system that serves the elevator cab, hoistway, and machine room. 6. Electrical connection to new equipment. 7. Removal and replacement of chase panels for new electrical feeds. 8. New fire rated soffit for new electrical feeds. 9. A new generator for emergency power to elevator. (Alternate Deduct) All bids submitted in response to this Invitation for Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Deposit of 5% of the bid price. Bids will be evaluated and awarded in accordance with the provisions established under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, 44A-J. Vendors will be required to abide by the guidelines established under this statute. These contracts are subject to Federal Davis Bacon Wages, OSHA Certification and DCAMM Eligibility. The LHA reserves the right to amend or cancel this IFB, accept or reject any and all bids and waive minor informalities. The work is estimated to cost $1,774,241.00. The participation goals for this project shall be 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women. Notice to proceed is anticipated for May 2024. All work at the first site work shall be complete in November 2024. All work at the second site shall be complete by April 2025
