Work of this contract includes the proper removal and disposal of various hazardous materials identified in the referenced Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint Report and as further clarified within this bid package. Whereas the Contractor is responsible for complete and total removal and disposal of the hazardous materials and any contamination associated with the hazardous materials present within and/or associated with the 1101 South 42 nd street building Work Area: Is the location where asbestos-abatement work occurs. It is a variable of the extent of work of the contract. It may be a portion of a room, a single room, or a complex of rooms. A "work area" is considered contaminated during the work, and must be isolated from the balance of the building, and decontaminated at the completion of the asbestos-control work. Removal and Disposal of Asbestos Containing Materials and Lead Based Paint - 1101 South 42nd Street: Douglas County is requesting bids from qualified companies, herein called Bidder, Contractor, Vendor, Supplier, or other pronouns used in their place, for all work and/or goods set forth in the specifications. Question Cutoff Date: 3/27/2024 02:00 PM (CT) Requirement for Bid Bond: The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashiers checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to Douglas County, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable).
