Verbal questions will not receive a response NorthStar Museums and Education, on behalf of New Foundations Charter School (NFCS), issues this Invitation for Bids for the Re-Surfacing of their existing playground area located at NFCS's K8 Building. New Foundations Charter School (NFCS) was initially founded in 2000 by Sheryl Perzel and Paul Stadelberger as a K-8 school and expanded to include a high school program in 2010. NFCS currently enrolls approximately 1,500 students between kindergarten and 12th Grade in buildings originally designed by J2A Architects and built by BSI Construction. The students and faculty are housed in two buildings on Rhawn Street. NFCS is seeking a qualified Contractor to perform the full scope of work. The successful Contractor will be responsible for full removal and disposal of the existing Playground Surface, followed by installation of the new poured-in-place Playground surface. The selected Contractor will be responsible for the full scope of work required to complete the project. The work includes but is not limited to: Removal and disposal of the existing K-8 Playground surface, patching and leveling of the existing surface (if required), followed by installation of the new poured-in-place Playground Surface. B. The selected Contractor will be responsible for all applicable demolition, temporary protection, and coordination with New Foundations Charter School. C. All material, equipment, dumpster(s), labor, etc as required to complete the project as outlined in the Construction documents shall be the responsibility of the selected Contractor. D. The successful Contractor will be responsible for full removal and replacement of the existing Playground Surface, with installation of a new Poured-in-Place Playground Surface as outlined in the attached Performance Specification. It is noted that NFCS is open to exploring alternative products proposed, with NFCS reserving the right to approve or reject potential substitutions. E. NFCS would prefer to match existing for the type, color, and overall appearance of the Playground Surface, however, NFCS will review proposed alternative products and colors for obtaining the most cost-effective option. F. It is noted for reference only that the existing square footage of Playground Surface to be removed is approximately 4,500 SF - 5,000 SF. However, all Contractors shall verify the existing conditions prior to submitting their bid and are responsible for ensuring their quantities are correct. G. It is noted that the desired completion date for the project is Friday August 16th, 2024. Contractors shall have full access to the area beginning on Monday June 10th, 2024, with the goal of substantial completion by August 16th, 2024.
