Site work for a communication facility in Gonzales, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a communication facility.

https://gonzalesinquirer.com/stories/glo-to-gonzales-county-rebid-tower-project,102252 GLO to Gonzales County: Rebid tower project Gonzales County commissioners voted unanimously Monday, June 10, to reject the sole bid they received for a radio communications tower project after being advised to do so by the Texas General Land Office. Commissioners are expected to authorize rebidding the project at a special called meeting either Monday, June 17 or Tuesday, June 18, after changes are made to the bid specifications so that the project can be advertised in the June 20 and June 27 edition of the Gonzales Inquirer as required by law. On May 28, the court had voted 3-2 to send a letter from Hanson Professional Services and Langford Community Management Services to the GLO -- signed by Commissioners K.O. "Dell" Whiddon, Donnie Brozozowski and Kevin La Fleur -- asking the government agency to allow the county to accept the sole bid received from the Lower Colorado River Authority. During that meeting, Judge Pat Davis and Commissioner Collie Boatright voted against sending the letter, stating they believed the county should rebid the project due to protests raised by potential bidders Motorola and Victoria Communications Systems about incorrect information within the bidding notice and a lack of time given to properly prepare tower specifications. _________________________________________ The project generally consists of a P25 Phase 2 standards-based 700/800 MHz trunked radio system to provide greater county-wide communications coverage and message capacity. Components include: 3 new towers, 2 new shelters and 3 emergency backup generators, trunked radio network with geographically-redundant central control systems, interface with, or replacement of existing dispatch console equipment, and redundant IP-based microwave backhaul. MBE (49.4%), WBE (6.9%) Question Deadline 09/05/2024 No oral interpretations will be made to any bidder. Each request for clarification shall be made in writing to the Gonzales County or engineer no less than seven (7) days prior to the bid opening .
