Site work and paving for a road / highway in Peoria, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Project description generally is as follows: 1. BASE BID: Sawcut, mill, and replace 3' width strip of asphalt pavement along Detweiller Park's north road, STA 25+00 to STA 45+00. 2. ALTERNATES: Sawcut, mill, and replace 3' width strip of asphalt pavement along Detweiller Park's north road, STA 45+00 to STA 48+64. The work is tentatively scheduled to begin on April 11, 2024 And Be At Substantial Completion By September 11, 2024. The bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty which shall not be less than 10% of the amount of the Bid. At the option of the Bidder, the 10% Guaranty may be a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or a Bid Bond. The Bid Bond shall be secured by a Guaranty or a Surety Company acceptable to the Owner. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required Guaranty. Funds must be made payable to the order of the Owner. Cash deposits will not be accepted. The Bid Guaranty shall ensure the execution of the Agreement and the furnishing of the Surety Bond or Bonds by the successful Bidder, all as required by the Contract Documents. A 10% Bid Bond is required, and is to be included with the Bid Proposal. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Labor and Materials Payment Bond within ten (10) days of formal Award of Contract. The general prevailing rate of wage for the Peoria area shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute this contract or perform this work as required by the State of Illinois Department of Labor. Additionally, it is required that provisions of the Illinois Preference Act, the Illinois Drug Free Workplace Act, and the Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Act must be adhered to. Bidders are also advised that contract documents for this project include the non-discrimination, equal opportunity and affirmative action provisions in the Human Rights Act and rules and regulations of the Department of Human Rights. The Peoria Park District is an AA/EEO organization and encourages participation by minority and female-owned firms. Owner Rights: The Peoria Park District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technical deficiencies, informalities or irregularities or rebid any project. This information will be available up to twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled bid opening time. After that deadline, no information pertaining to the project will be given. Liquidated Damages: Owner And Contractor Recognize That Time Is Of The Essence Of This Agreement And That Owner Will Suffer Financial Loss If The Work Is Not Substantially Complete Within The Time Specified Below, Plus Any Extensions Thereof Allowed In Accordance With Article 8 Of The General Conditions. They Also Recognize The Delays, Expense And Difficulties Involved In Proving In A Legal Or Arbitration Proceeding The Actual Loss Suffered By Owner If The Work Is Not Completed On Time. Accordingly, Instead Of Requiring Any Such Proof, Owner And Contractor Agree That As Liquidated Damages For Delay (But Not As A Penalty) Contractor Shall Pay Owner Two Hundred And Fifty Dollars ($250.00) For Each Calendar Day That Expires After One Hundred Fifty Four (154) Calendar Days From Notice Of Award Until Substantial Completion Is Attained
