Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Reading, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and playground / park / athletic field.

The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: The Site Work consists of the following: removal of trees laying on ground and unhealthy standing trees, pruning large trees, understory clearing and grubbing; provision of earthwork, porous asphalt paving walkways, segmental block peirs, landscaping; installation of owner furnished modular play and swing structures, benches, and safety surface mulch; and all incidental related work. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Project Location: City of Reading, Pennsylvania Work commences upon notice to proceed issued by the City of Reading. The contractor shall order the play equipment within one (1) month of notice to proceed. All work shall be fully completed within 120 calendar days from receipt of equipment. There will be prebid meeting for this project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by bid surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal. A certified check or bid bond will be accepted. Attention is called to the fact that Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wage rates must be paid by the contractor and that employees shall not be discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex or national origin. The City of Reading reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept or reject any part of a bid, as may be in the public interest. Funding for this project is from the City of Reading's Community Development Block Grant. Owner Limited Occupancy of Completed Areas of Construction: Owner reserves the right to occupy and to place and install equipment in completed portions of the Work, prior to Substantial Completion of the Work, provided such occupancy does not interfere with completion of the Work. Such placement of equipment and limited occupancy shall not constitute acceptance of the total Work.
