Site work for a water / sewer project in Washington, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Warren County Technical School, 1500 Route 57, Washington, NJ 07882 . The Work generally includes providing a new, properly sloped and constructed sub-grade sanitary line at the building exterior which will be connected to an existing exterior below-grade line and a newly routed interior line which exits the building. Work areas shall be separated from adjacent spaces by one of the following means: 1. Polyethylene Zip Walls (minimum 4 mil. thick). Two layers of this system shall be used to create a vestibule between the work area and adjacent areas of the building. 2. Framed partition using 2 x 4 wood framing and one layer of 1/2 : gypsum board sheathing with a temporary wood door. Both assemblies noted above shall be full height (floor to ceiling and wall to wall). Due To The Special Nature Of The Work Involved That Can Only Be Seen By An In-depth Visitation, The Attendance Of All The Bidders Is Requested And Strongly Encouraged As An Integral And Important Element Of The Bidding Process So That All Bidders Have An Equal Understanding Of The Scope Of Work Involved. Bidders Must Be Pre-qualified By The New Jersey Schools Development Authority ("Njsda") As Stated In The Contract Documents, Prior To The Date Bids Are Received. All Bidders, Their Subcontractors, And Their Sub-subcontractors Shall Be Registered With The New Jersey Department Of Labor, Pursuant To The Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.j.s.a. 34:11-56.48 Et Seq. Indicating Compliance With The Act For Work Subject To The New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.j.s.a. 34:11-56.25 Et Seq.) Contractors Should Submit Copies Of Their Certificate Of Registration With Their Bid And Should Also Include Copies Of The Certificates For Each Named Subcontractor Listed In Its Bid Form With Its Bid. Sub-subcontractor Certificates Must Be Submitted Prior To The Sub-subcontractor Providing Goods Or Services On This Project. The Bid Must Contain A Bid Security In The Amount Of Ten (10%) Percent Of The Bid Price, Not To Exceed Twenty Thousand ($20,000.00) Dollars, And Consent Of Surety, Each In The Form And Manner Required By The Contract Documents. No Oral Or Other Communications During The Bidding Process Shall Bind The Board Except As Shall Be Contained In A Written Addendum Which The Board May, In Its Sole Discretion, Issue In Accordance With Applicable Law. Bidders Are Required To Comply With The Requirements Of N.j.s.a. 10:5-31, Et Seq., And N.j.a.c. 17:27. It Is The Sole Responsibility Of The Bidder To Ensure Timely Receipt Of Its Bid By The Board, At The Place Designated For Opening Of Bids. The Board Assumes No Responsibility Whatsoever In Connection With Any Defects Arising Out Of The Issuance Of The Contract Documents Or Its Failure To Receive Bids At The Time And Place Required And Those Which May Arise From Delay For Any Reason In Obtaining The Contract Documents Or In The Submission Of A Bid, Including, But Not Limited To, Delays Or Failures Of Receipt Caused By Traffic Delay, Errors By Messengers, Mis-labeling, Mis-direction From Any Source Including The Board's Personnel, Mis-delivery By Common Carrier, Or Any Other Reason. No Bid May Be Withdrawn For A Period Of Sixty (60) Days After The Opening Date. The Board Reserves The Right To Reject Any And All Bids And/or To Waive Any Informality In The Bidding, As Permitted By Law, If It Is In The Interest Of The Board To Do So. When It Is In Its Best Interest To Do So And To The Maximum Extent Of Its Discretion Under Applicable Law, The Board May Award The Contract In Whole Or In Part, Select Any Combination Of Bids And Alternates, May Waive Any Informalities, And May Reject Any Or All Bids. 1. April 18th, 2024: Anticipated Contract Award Date. 2. June 14th, 2024: Work to Commence on Site. 3. August 16th, 2024: Work substantially complete. 5. September 16th, 2024: Work Finally Complete The purpose of this work is to bypass an existing interior line which has failed and exists beneath the existing main corridor which has an existing sand-cushion terrazzo flooring system. Work shall include, but not be limited to the following: a. Verifying existing subgrade plumbing line locations and invert elevations. b. Selective demolition at various floor and wall areas in order to access the existing sanitary lines. This includes trenching through existing concrete slabs with terrazzo floor finish. c. Making connections to existing lines in order to route them to the building exterior. d. Trenches shall be filled and patched in accordance with drawings. e. Interior partitions which are selectively demolished, in order to access piping, shall be reconstructed in kind and refinished in kind. Existing partitions are constructed of metal framing & gypsum wall board and concrete masonry units (8- inches thick). f. Floors shall be refinished in accordance with drawings. g. The new exterior line shall tie into a new sanitary lift station with all electrical connections, alarms and panels. h. One existing lift station (which will be bypassed as a result of the new routing) shall be removed and disposed of, and the existing excavation shall be backfilled, compacted and seeded. i. Work includes all temporary protection, disposal of excess materials and cleanup. j. Work shall include Owner training of the new lift station.
