The scope of work includes but is not limited to; furnishing and installing approximately ten thousand nine hundred and twenty-three (10,923) lineal feet of 8" water main, and ninety-eight (98) lineal feet of 6" water main. In addition, new water services will be provided to 342 lots (315 contractor + 27 City installed) and service transfers will be performed at all those locations. Installation of 21 fire hydrants will also be a part of this project with 6 additional hydrants to be installed by City forces. The work will be performed in the vicinity of S. Orange, E. Church, S. Cedar and E. Jensen Avenues. The 8" and 6" water mains will replace 50+- year old mains. A portion of work is within the County of Fresno. Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% BID DEPOSIT. Bidders must submit a Bid Deposit, which may be provided separately, in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the Total Net Bid Amount (or, in bids with Add Alternates, the highest possible combination of the Base Bid plus Add Alternates) with their Bid Proposal. Such Bid Deposit shall be in the form of a certified or cashier's check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a certificate of deposit payable to the City of Fresno, or a bidder's bond executed by a corporate surety, admitted by the California Insurance Commissioner to do business in California, payable and acceptable to the City of Fresno. Bid Valid 64 days from the date bids are opened. Liquidated Damages Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per day for each calendar day. Project Duration 220 Working days from Notice to Proceed. The Construction Allocation for this project is $5,296,250. A 100 percent Payment Bond and 100 percent Performance Bond for all public works contracts must be filed with the Contract Documents and approved by the City before the Contractor enters upon performance of the Work. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
