REDDING FLOORING REPLACEMENT - CARPET WORK INCLUDED A. Work required to be performed by the Contractor comprises: 1. Remove existing flooring, base and any other loose underlayment from shown areas and replace with new carpet, new base and floor transition as shown in attached drawings. a. Owner will furnish 33,000 sqft of Mohawk Healthy Environments carpet tiles for installation. b. Contractor to provide and operate a fork lift to receive the carpet delivery at the Redding Veterans Home receiving dock, as well as provide palette jack(s) to distribute the carpet palettes on thedock to designated storage locations throughout the Redding Home, upon initial delivery as well as during each installation phase. c. Contractor to provide all glue, trim, base, transitions, etc., as specified, to complete the project. d. Remove all scope of work on Drawings Sheet A.2.6 (NIC). In the manner and time prescribed in the approved Drawings dated February 22, 2024, Project Manual, and such addenda thereto as may be issue prior to bid opening date; including furnishing all material, labor, plant, tools, equipment, and services necessary therefor and incidental thereto, complete and ready for use, except as hereinafter otherwise provided. 2. Please refer to proposed Floor Phasing Plan and Construction Schedule at the end of this section. Bidders Security: 1 All bids shall be accompanied by the following forms of bidder’s security: Bidder’s Bond, cashier’s check, certified check or cash. Bidder’s Bond shall be executed by an admitted surety insurer, authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California. Bond and checks shall be made payable to the director of the California Department of Veterans Affairs. The security shall be in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the amount bid. A bid shall not be considered responsive unless one of the forms of bidder’s security is enclosed with it. INSURANCE Contractor will be required to furnish to the State, concurrently with execution of the Contract, a certificate of insurance coverage as required by Paragraph 11.1 of Document 00 72 00, General Conditions of the Contract for Construction.
