New construction of a fitness / recreation center in Delta, British Columbia. Design plans call for the construction of a 64,800-square-foot fitness / recreation center.
City of Delta, Winskill aquatic and fitness centre replacement. The new Winskill will be approximately 6,000 m2 and be located in Winskill Park. The new facility will contain the following 1.) Gymnasium 2.) Separate 25 metre Swimming 8 - 10 lane pool, leisure pool, and teach pool 3.) Accessible Hot Tub, Sauna and Steam Room 4.) Enhanced fitness areas and weight room 5.) Multipurpose Spaces 6.) Area for Boys and Girls Club (to match the current size of their leased space on the bottom floor of the Annex) 7.) Enhanced parking. TIMELINE: Request for proposal seeking architectural services for design, is closed; preferred proponent is selected. Delta plans to construct a replacement Winskill that is operational by late summer of 2027. Further update in late fall 2024, upon approvals. *Preliminary estimate for the replacement have the Winskill project in a budget range of $120-130 million. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
