The Scope of Work includes sealing of cracks in asphaltic and concrete pavement, traffic control, and other incidental items. Bid packages are available under "related documents" below. The City of Town and Country is a tax exempt entity. A project exemption certificate will be supplied to the successful contractor. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Town and Country shall award any contract based on the proposal that, in its sole discretion, best meets the interests and requirements of the City. The City of Town and Country reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any and all proposals, to waive technicalities or deficiencies in any or all the proposals, to negotiate with any or all bidders or others for other or more favorable terms or prices, and/or to award the contract to other than the bidder submitting the lowest cost proposal, with or without negotiation. Time of Completion All time limits stated in the Contract Documents are of the essence. The Work to be performed under the Contract shall commence within ten (10) days of the date of the written Notice to Proceed from the City to the Contractor. The count of calendar days allowed for the completion of the project will start on the date the contractor starts any construction operations on this project. All work shall be completed within the calendar days specified below. Calendar Days: 30 Should the contractor, or in case of default, the surety fail to complete the work within the working days or the completion date specified, whichever occurs first, a deduction of the amount stipulated in Article V will be made for each day that the contract remains uncompleted.
