The City of Binghamton Department of Water is requesting bid proposals for the replacement of High Lift #3 a Flow Way rebuilt pump from1994. This replacement will include the change from a 16" Discharge to a 14" Discharge for the new 400 - 450 Hp 5500 GPM at 220 feet of head pump to be purchased and installed by the successful bidder. With the bid, the bidder must submit a bid bond for 5% of the total bid amount DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE DONE: All electrical work to be done by City Contractor (All Phase) Order new Pump and Motor as required to meet the 5500 GPM at 220 Ft Head capacity requirements. Disassemble & Remove #3 High Lift Pump. Rebuild / pour new pump base to conform to the smaller base of the new pump. Install new pump and motor as required by manufacturer installation guides. Coordinate Start up with electrical contractor and City crew. Data Sheets will be attached and labeled #1 High Lift. This package of information will be a base guide for pump sizing. The only expected change will be the required flow rates to be slightly lower then the informational packet shows. All other information is usable for overall dimensions. Each bidder will be required to go over final details of available flow rates before making final selection. The Board of Contract and Supply, as the duly formed representation of the City of Binghamton, has the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City. An irregular or informal bid may also be rejected. In case of default by the contractor, the City may procure the articles, services or material from other sources and hold the contractor responsible for any excess in cost occasioned thereby. The City of Binghamton will not be responsible in any manner for verbal answer to any inquires regarding the meaning of the specifications which may be given prior to the awarding of the contract. Award of this contract will be made to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with all the provisions required to render it formal and legal and whose record of performance with the City has been satisfactory. The equipment being bid shall be a current model and shall be a make and model which now is in production. A copy of the factory specifications for the units offered shall be attached to the proposal sheet at the time of submission of bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the conditions of the Invitation for Bids provided such bid is reasonable and it is to the best interest of the City of Binghamton. The Board of Contract and Supply, however, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in its interest. The bidder to whom the award is made will be notified at the earliest possible date Pricing submitted shall remain firm and effective for fifteen (15) days from the date of the bid opening.
