Site work and paving for a road / highway in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

https://theconstructionbroadsheet.com/ncdot-awards-blythe-m-highway-widening-project-other-contracts-p1902-175.htm The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) on Thursday approved a more than $249 million contract to Blythe Development LLC for improvements to an almost seven-mile stretch of North Carolina Highway 150 (NC 150) in Catawba and Iredell counties. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based contractor will widen the highway from four to six lanes, the department said, to improve safety and mobility along the corridor. A few of the project elements include reduced-conflict intersections and a continuous-flow intersection, state officials said. Reduced conflict intersections, according to the NCDOT, help reduce the number of potential conflict points between vehicles through design. For example, officials said, a variation of this type of intersection uses raised medians to steer traffic coming from side roads into turning right, eliminating hazardous left turns. Those who want to proceed in the opposite direction would travel fewer than 1,000 feet to a dedicated U-turn location. When using a continuous flow intersection, department officials said, motorists going straight through and turning right at a traffic signal proceed as normal, but motorists turning left make the turn before reaching the light via a dedicated traffic light approximately 300 feet to 500 feet before the intersection. . ?The NCDOT expects that Blythe will start work on the project as early as January, with completion scheduled for spring of 2030. Other low bidders in this latest round of contract awards included: S.T. Wooten Corporation, based in Wilson, North Carolina – 18.6 miles of milling, resurfacing and shoulder reconstruction along NC 24 in Carteret County ($9 million); S.T. Wooten Corporation – 13.6 million of milling, resurfacing and shoulder reconstruction along NC 24 and three side roads in Onslow County ($5 million); S.T.
