The Wakefield Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from electrical contractors for the Fire Alarm System Upgrade and FPE Panel Replacement project at the Harts Hill Development for the Wakefield Housing Authority in Wakefield Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Nangle Engineering Incorporated. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to DHCD (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE GENERAL BIDS ARE OPENED. The observation is an opportunity to visit and observe the site only. Any oral interpretations offered at the observation are non-binding. Any questions must be submitted in writing to the Designer, at the e-mail address above, and on the Project Manual cover, no later than 4:00 PM on the Friday prior to the date stated above for the receipt of bids. Questions after that time may not be responded to, at the sole discretion of the designer. The work is estimated to cost $443,912.00, including all alternates. The Project consists of: The replacement of the existing fire alarm systems with a fully addressable fire alarm system at the 667-1 portion of the development, and panelboard and load center replacement at the 667-2 portion of the development.
