As of November 1, 2024, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The selected engineering firm will provide professional services related to the design, permitting, and bid phase services for the Headwork Modifications project. The selected engineering firm is expected to work closely with Lake Wales through the project. The objective is to replace the existing headworks with an elevated headworks with a side stream Equalization Tank (EQ) and pumps. The headworks improvements will also include the addition of an influent flow meter, allowing for Return Activated Sludge (RAS) pacing and treatment optimization. Upgrades to the RAS Basin and control will be sized for 8 MGD or greater.
