Saving Project...

Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Baddeck, Nova Scotia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 12,750-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The Municipality would like to explore new locations within the Baddeck and surrounding area for a new building. The Municipal Building currently houses 16 staff and has had to restrict growth due to the lack of available space in the current facility. For planning purposes, the Municipality anticipates 25 full-time staff. The new municipal building would house the council chambers, administrative offices, and offices of the various other departments as well as staff amenities and meeting rooms. Preliminary consideration of the Municipality indicates a need for a building of approx. 12750 sq. ft. TIMELINE: A request for expressions of interest (EOI) from architectural consulting firms for design and construction administration services was issued by the owner in early spring. No design firm has been engaged as of yet. Project has been put on pause. Further update may be available winter 2024, pending owner's decision to proceed. *Budget is unreleased.
