The City of Binghamton Department of Water is requesting bid proposals for the repair of High Lift #1 a Sterling/Peerless Vertical Turbine Pump 450HP 6000 GPM at 220 Ft Head. This repair will be the replacement of the shaft column and bowl assembly and will also include refurbishment of the discharge head to attach to new column/ bowl assembly. The Board of Contract and Supply, as the duly formed representation of the City of Binghamton, has the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City. An irregular or informal bid may also be rejected. The bid must be sealed and clearly marked with the name and address of the bidder. DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE DONE: All electrical work to be done by City Contractor (All Phase) Order new column and bowl assembly for complete rebuild. Disassemble #1 High Lift Pump Refurbish Discharge Head, ensure it matches with new column and bowl assembly. Reassemble #1 High Lift Pump with refurbished Discharge Head and existing 450hp motor. Coordinate Start up with electrical contractor and City crew. Data Sheets will be attached and labeled #1 High Lift. This package of information will include all relevant information on the original construction in 2000 of the pump It is mandatory each bidder perform a site visit to see rigging requirements and equipment needs.
