As of June 12, 2024, project was awarded to Doug Wilson Enterprises, Inc., with an awarded amount of $1,822,600.74. Lee Wenner Parking Lot Improvement Project. The project entails the enhancement and expansion of parking facilities at Lee Wenner Park to accommodate additional parking spaces, offering improved accessibility for boating and proximate social and cultural events. Small Business Set Asides (i.e. Woman Owned, Minority, Veteran, Disadvantaged etc.) are encouraged to submit bid/proposals concerning this solicitation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bid/proposals, with or without a cause; to waive technical errors and informalities; and to award proposals to the highest rated responsive and responsible bidder. One or more of the City Council members may be present at the bid/proposal opening. The City of Cocoa supports local vendors and offers a five (5%) percent preference given to Brevard County contractors / contractors whose physical business address is within the physical boundaries of Brevard County and such location is evidenced by the local business tax receipt issued for at least six (6) months prior to the date the bid is submitted. P.O. Boxes shall not be considered a physical business address. Local preference does not apply in the case where contracts are funded in whole or in part by a government entity whose laws or regulations governing such funding prohibit application of a local vendor preference.
