The Works to be performed under the Contract consists of the construction of a solid waste transfer station and associated works. The Works includes but is not limited to the following: a. Project startup including mobilization to the Site. b. Development, implementation, and maintenance of a Site-specific Health and Safety Plan and a Construction Environmental Management Plan. c. Provision and maintenance of temporary facilities and controls. d. Tree felling and removal. e. Clearing and grubbing. f. Pre-construction topographic survey. g. Pre-construction soil sampling and testing. h. Stripping and stockpiling of native topsoil. i. Earthworks to achieve finished grades. j. Surface water ditching including culverts. k. Construction of site access roads. l. Electrical and water utility connections. m. Installation of water service to: 1) Site Office 2) Stand-pipe adjacent to compost shelter. n. Installation of site electrical including site lighting and electrical for compactor, and buildings. o. Construction of 3 lock-block high retaining wall, including: 1) Five (5) concrete pads for roll-off bins 2) One (1) concrete pad for compactor and compatible roll-off bin 3) Loading zone from Recycling Building p. Installation of 1 lock-block high material storage area including concrete pad for Freon appliance storage. q. Construction of concrete/wood structures, including: 1) Compost shelter (4 bays) r. Procurement and installation of pre-engineered Recycling Building: 1) Foundation design and construction 2) HVAC design and installation 3) Electrical design and installation 4) Design and construction of recycling building and exterior carport for heavy equipment storage. s. Installation of pre-engineered Site Office, including: 1) Layout containing office and washroom 2) Plumbing for washroom 3) Electrical 4) Foundation and skirting t. Installation of below grade sewage holding tank, including: 1) Alarms, control panel, and venting u. Installation and assistance with off-loading of OWNER-supplied seacan buildings, including: 1) Modified seacan for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) (2) 2) Seacan for housing of Jora composters (2) 3) Share shed seacan (1) v. Exterior improvements, including installation of: 1) Chain-link fencing and gates 2) Concrete bollards w. Demobilization and closeout. Location: Iskut is located off Highway 37 in north-western British Columbia (BC), approximately 500 km north of Terrace, in the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS). Iskut First Nation is a band government of the Tahltan people, and it is a member nation of the Tahltan Central Government. Iskut Band is looking to construct a solid waste transfer station to service the community. The waste transfer station servicing Iskut will be located in the on east side of Highway 37, near the Kluachon subdivision at approximately 57°50'34.4"N 129°59'46.3"W. The site is located on reserve land.
