Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Victoria, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Goldstream park Highway 1, Malahat Safety Improvements project, which involves widening a 2.6 kilometers of the Malahat corridor within Goldstream Provincial Park. TIMELINE: Project is on hold. The province will not be proceeding with the project at this time, as additional work is required to address environmental considerations in this sensitive area of Goldstream Park. The ministry is updating its Highway 1 Malahat Safety Review (including historical crash data). The data results are expected to be released in late 2026 and will guide any future infrastructure decisions. The Ministry of Transportation and Transit has been in discussions with First Nations and interest holders through the project's planning process and will continue doing so as it updates the corridor study.
