The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for a Contractor to: Re-Insulate a 30 Year Old Outdoor Emulsion Oil Tank at the Decorah Maintenance Garage, 2305 US Hwy 52 South, Decorah, IA. 52101. Please see RFB FY2024 #213 Scope of Work & Foam Insulation Materials Specifications Documents under the Attachments Tab for additional information. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. Questions: All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the site on or before the cut off date and time as indicated in the solicitation. Estimated Start date - 05/09/2024. Estimated End date- 06/14/2024 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance of the project. Contractor is required to provide all materials, equipment and labor for the removal and replacement of material as per plans/specifications outlined on the Line Item Tab, see Line 1. This includes the disposal of all debris off site. IADOT - Re - Insulate 30 Year Old Outdoor Emulsion Oil Tank at the Decorah Maintenance Garage Contractor to provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for the removal of the old insulation from the tank and the re-insulation of the tank and apply protective coating to reduce the risk of birds damaging the insulation. Tank Size: 18 feet tall and 8 feet 6 inches in diameter Location: Decorah Maintenance Garage. The tank sits on top of a 10-foot-high platform with a catwalk around it. Additional specialized equipment may be required for the contractor to have full access to the tank. Contractor to remove and dispose of offsite all existing spray foam on the outer painted emulsion tank.
