Site work and paving for a road / highway in Oregon, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Description of Work: the Project Consists of Earth Excavation, Hma Pavement Removal, Concrete V-gutter, Storm Sewer, Patching and Restoration at the End of N. David Court in Rockvale Township. Insurance: the Successful Bidder Shall Furnish a Certificate of Insurance in the Requirements Listed, Within 30 Days of Award or the Contract is Null and Void. 1. Bodily Injury Liability $1,000,000.00 2. Property Damage Liability a. Each Occurrence $500,000.00 3. Workman's Compensation Coverage Quantities: Quantities Are Estimates Prepared for the Establishment of Pay Items and Are the Responsibility of the Contractor to Confirm Prior to Bidding. Quantities May Be Increased, Decreased, or Omitted to Satisfactorily Complete the Project. Precautions for Utilities: the Contractor Shall Take Whatever Precautions Which May Be Necessary to Protect the Property of the Various Public Utilities, Which May Be Located Underground or Above Ground, at or Adjacent to the Site of This Improvement. Needed Adjustments of These Facilities Will Be Made by the Respective Utility Companies, if So Required. These Facilities Shall Be Saved Harmless and Care Shall Be Exercised So as Not to Disrupt or Destroy the Services Provided by These Utilities. The Contractor Will Be Required to Repair or Replace Any Public Utility Property Which Has Been Damaged Through Their Efforts. The Procedure and Specifications of Repair Will Be in Accordance With the Regulations and/or Policy of the Utility. The Contractor Shall Contact and Coordinate Their Activities With the Utilities by Contacting: J.u.l.i.e. - (800) 892-0123. Construction Staking: Construction Staking Shall Be Provided by Rockvale Township or Their Designated Representative, Which Shall Include the Marking of Removal Limits and the Staking of Grades for Inlet and Pipe Construction. Saw Cutting: This Work Shall Consist of Sawing Existing Pavements to a Depth That When the Material is Removed, a Clean Edge Will Result With No Spalling of the Remaining Material. Saw Cutting Shall Be Performed at All Locations Along the Roadway Pavement Where Proposed Storm Sewer Inlets Are to Be Installed, as Needed. This Work Item Shall Be Considered Incidental to the Unit Price of the Item Being Installed. Earth Excavation (Special): This Work Shall Be Performed in Accordance With Section 202 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Excavation on the Project is Limited to That Necessary for the Construction of the New Gutter and Storm Sewer, Which Shall Include the Removal of Landscaping and Small Tree(S). After Concrete Has Obtained the Specified Strength, the Restoration Behind the Gutter in Restoration Areas Shall Be Backfilled With the Previously Excavated Material and Access Material Trucked Off Site. This Work Shall Be Paid for the Contract Unit Price Per Cubic Yard for Earth Excavation, Special, Which Price Shall Include the Removal, Hauling, Placement, Compaction and Grading of the Earthen Backfill. Hma Pavement Removal This Item Shall Be Performed in Accordance With Section 440 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and the Details Included in the Construction Plans. This Item Shall Include the Cost of Removal and Excavation of the Existing Pavement. It is Estimated That the Existing Pavement is Approximately 4" Thick. All Mailboxes Adjacent to Construction Work Shall Be Protected or Relocated. This Work Shall Be Paid for at the Contract Unit Price Per Square Yard for Hma Pavement Removal. Inlet Removal Gutter Removal Storm Sewer Removal This Work Shall Be Performed in Accordance With Section 440 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and in Accordance With the Construction Plans. The Contractor Shall Remove Any and All Parts of the Existing Gutters, Inlets and Storm Sewer and Shall Include the Cost of Removal and Disposal. This Work Shall Be Paid for at the Contract Unit Price Per Foot of Gutter Removal, Unit Price Per Each for Inlet Removal and Unit Price Per Foot for Storm Sewer Removal. Concrete Gutter, Type a (Special): This Item Shall Be Performed in Accordance With Section 606 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and the Details Included in the Contract Plans. Concrete Shall Be Measured Along the Flow Line of the Gutter for Payment. Expansion Joints and Tie Bars Shall Be Installed at Each End Into Existing Gutter. a 5" Lift of Aggregate Shall Be Placed and Compacted Under the Gutter and Shall Be Paid Per Ton as Aggregate Base Course, Type B. This Work Shall Be Paid for at the Contract Unit Price Per Foot for Concrete Gutter, Type a (Special), Which Price Shall Include the Labor and Materials for Expansion Joints, Curing Compound, and Dowel Bars. xceptions: Ogle 24-XX000-00-GM The Seal Coat shall be applied full width of the roadway. Seal Coat shall be applied to all side roads from the edge of pavement to the right-of-way line. DRIVEWAYS WILL BE INCLUDED with Seal Coat work for Groups 40, 41, 42, 43 (3' from EOP), 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, and 54. The Contractor shall apply the seal coat the full width of the road in one pass, unless prior approval is granted by the Engineer. In all areas compaction shall be performed with 2 pneumatic rollers, or as directed by the Engineer. Sweeping and cleaning existing surfaces shall be incidental to Bituminous Materials. Cleaning of completed surfaces in Subdivisions, Towns, or Villages shall be performed with a Vac-Truck or a Street Sweeper. For this year's project, this will include groups 37 (Village of Brookville), 39 (Subdivision), 46 (Walden & Marrill Roads), 50 (Lake Cedar & Poplar Drive), 51 (Village of Chana), and 55 (Village of Hillcrest). Sweeping of completed surfaces shall not be performed until new seal coat is at least 3 days old, but no later than 3 weeks following placement. Distributor shall stay within approximately 600 feet of aggregate spreader, unless as otherwise authorized by the engineer. Equipment shall meet the applicable requirements of Sections 1101 and 1102 of the Standard Specifications adopted January 1, 2022. The asphalt distributor shall have a minimum capacity of 2000 gallons. APPPLICATION OF PRIME & DOUBLE SEAL COAT (A-2) This work shall be completed in accordance with the applicable portions of Check Sheet #LRS9 of the Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions revised January 1, 2024, with the following exceptions: The Bituminous Surface Treatment shall consist of Prime and two Seal Coats using the materials and application rates specified in the attached D2-LRS for Bituminous Surface Treatments (Class A2). The Prime and Seal Coats shall be applied full width of the roadway. Seal Coat shall be applied to all side roads from the edge of pavement to the right-of-way line. DRIVEWAYS WILL BE INCLUDED with Seal Coat work for Groups 57, 59 (3' from EOP), 61, 62, and 63. Base preparation shall be done by Others. The Contractor shall apply the seal coat the full width of the road in one pass, unless prior approval is granted by the Engineer. The sealing of existing driveways, side roads and widened parking areas shall be completed between the first and second mainline coats, or after the second mainline coat is completed. The Engineer also has the option to require the use of hand wand in the application of oil in driveways. In all areas compaction shall be performed with 2 pneumatic rollers, or as directed by the Engineer. A Steel drum roller will be required for A-2 Seal Coat Applications Sweeping and cleaning existing and completed surfaces shall be incidental to Bituminous Materials. Distributor shall stay within approximately 600 feet of aggregate spreader, unless as otherwise authorized by the engineer. Equipment shall meet the applicable requirements of Sections 1101 and 1102 of the Standard Specifications adopted January 1, 2022. The asphalt distributor shall have a minimum capacity of 2000 gallons. For A-2 Seal Coats, watering shall be required to the satisfaction of the Engineer, before Bituminous Prime Coat shall be applied. String line shall be used as required by the Engineer. Project consists of the Application of Seal Coats on various roads throughout Ogle County as shown on the enclosed map and listed below. The application has been broken into two groups: Group 1 is the application of A-1 Bituminous Surface Treatments; and Group 2 is the application of A-2 Bituminous Surface Treatments.
