Site work and paving for a road / highway in Oregon, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Location Razorville Road from River Road south 2.46 Miles Proposed Improvement 4" Cold in Place Recycling, 0.75" Leveling Binder, 1.5" HMA Surface Course, and incidental HMA Paving. This project consists of the Cold-In-Place Recycling of the bituminous asphalt roadway of Razorville Road to a depth of 4 inches from River Road south 2.46 miles. The recycled pavement is to be overlaid with 0.75" leveling binder and 1.5" surface course, with aggregate shoulders and necessary incidental work. The Successful Bidder Shall Furnish a Certificate of Insurance in the Requirements Listed, Within 30 Days of Award or the Contract is Null and Void. 1. Bodily Injury Liability $1,000,000.00 2. Property Damage Liability a. Each Occurrence $500,000.00 3. Workman's Compensation Coverage Quantities: Quantities Are Estimates Prepared for the Establishment of Pay Items and Are the Responsibility of the Contractor to Confirm Prior to Bidding. Quantities May Be Increased, Decreased, or Omitted to Satisfactorily Complete the Project. Cold-in-place Recycling - 4": Existing Bituminous Pavement is Approximately 22 Feet Wide. Cold-in-place Recycling (Cir) to Remain at 22 Feet, and is Only to Take Place Along the Mainline of Razorville Road. Cir-fdr Emulsified Asphalt: Gallons Were Estimated Using an Application Rate of 1.25 Gallons Per Square Yard. Actual Application Rate to Be Determined Through a Mix Design. Mix Design Shall Meet the Requirements Contained in Lr400-5 and Shall Be Developed in Accordance With Lr1000-1 Using the Process for Cir With Emulsified Asphalt. Mix Design Must Be Submitted to County Engineer for Approval at Least 2 Week Prior to Project Mobilization. Bituminous Materials (Tack Coat): Asphalt Ss-1h Shall Be Used for Bituminous Materials (Tack Coat). Initial Applications on Recycled Bituminous Surfaces Shall Be Applied at a Rate of 0.030 Lbs/sf, or to the Satisfaction of the Engineer. Application on Binder Course Prior to Surface Course Placement Shall Be Applied at a Rate of 0.020 Lbs/sf. This Work Shall Be Paid for at the Contract Price Per Pound for Bituminous Materials (Tack Coat) Hot-mix Asphalt Leveling Binder: Mixture Requirements for All Roads the Following Mixture Requirements Are Applicable for This Project: Location: Binder Pg: 58-28 Design Air Voids: 4.0% @ N-50 Mixture Composition (Gradation Mixture): Il9.5fg (Special Provision Included) Friction Aggregate: C the Nominal Compacted Thickness of Hot-mix Asphalt Leveling Binder Placed Shall Be 0.75" Average. The Hot-mix Asphalt Leveling Binder Shall Be Produced From One (1) Plant Only. Cost of Sweeping and Cleaning the Existing Bituminous Surface Shall Be Included in the Contract Unit Price for Hot-mix Asphalt Leveling Binder. The Density Requirement Shall Be According to the Hot-mix Asphalt Density (Growth Curve) Special Provision Included. This Work Shall Comply With Section 406 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and Shall Be Paid for at the Contract Unit Price Per Ton for Hot-mix Asphalt Leveling Binder. Hot-mix Asphalt Surface Course: Mixture Requirements for All Roads the Following Mixture Requirements Are Applicable for This Project: Location: Surface Pg: 58-28 Design Air Voids: 4.0% @ N-50 Mixture Composition (Gradation Mixture): Il9.5 Friction Aggregate: C Minimum Daily Tons Placed on the Road Shall Be 500 Tons. the Nominal Compacted Thickness of Hot-mix Asphalt Surface Course Placed Shall Be 1.5" Average. The Hot-mix Asphalt Surface Course Shall Be Produced From One (1) Plant Only. Cost of Sweeping and Cleaning the Existing Bituminous Surface Shall Be Included in the Contract Unit Price for Hot-mix Asphalt Surface Course. All Private Drives Shall Be Paved According to the Enclosed Detail. Special Attention is Called to the Blr 24 Standard. Care Shall Be Taken to Keep Rolled Edges to a Minimum, Driveways With Rolled Edges Along the Roadside Edge Shall Be Saw Cut as Directed by the Engineer. the Density Requirement Shall Be According to the Hot-mix Asphalt Density (Growth Curve) Special Provision Included. This Work Shall Comply With Section 406 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and Shall Be Paid for at the Contract Unit Price Per Ton for Hot-mix Asphalt Surface Course. Compaction Equipment for Hot Mix Asphalt: Rollers Shall Consist of (1) Vibratory Roller, (1) Tandem Finish Roller, and (1) Pneumatic Tired Roller, Unless Otherwise Approved by the Engineer.
