Provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to grade and construct sidewalks and structures as specified and required. Work shall include the grading, compaction, granular fill, relative wire fabric, testing, finish grading, and all incidental work. 2. All work shall be laid to grade as specified and general care exercised to secure adequate compaction, and to prevent any settlement from this sidewalk. 3. Certificates of conformance for specifications shall be submitted to engineer for all material and equipment. 4. Defective Work - Any defective work which shows up before conditional acceptance shall be replaced by the Contractor at his own cost and expense. 5. Measurement and Payment - Payment will be based on contract unit price per unit specified in bid proposal, and shall be based on actual quantities measured and installed. Payment for unit items shall include all materials, labor, tools and equipment necessary to complete the work and shall include all excavation, grading, backfill and other related work. The Town of Bedford is seeking proposals for a job order contract to carry out various sidewalk removal and replacement projects. It is the intent of this solicitation to obtain proposals for professional services for sidewalk replacement work at various and multiple locations within the Town of Bedford which will be periodically specified. Only those individuals/firms meeting technical requirements will be accepted. Immediate project includes approximately 4,700 feet of 4-foot-wide sidewalk, 7 ADA compliant ramps, 28 water meters to be adjusted, and 15 residential driveways. Future work will be based on our periodically revised sidewalk project list The intent of the Town is to enter a term contract with one or more successful vendors using the processes for competitive negotiation of term contracts pursuant to Sections 2.2-4202.2 and 2.2-4303.2 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended (the "Code"). The vendor is solely responsible for ensuring that proposals are received by the required date and time. Your proposal shall be in effect for at least 90 days from the submission date. Questions may be answered through addenda to this RFP issued by the Town. While information provided by Town staff may be informative, representations by Town staff shall not be binding upon the Town unless followed by a formal addendum posted with this RFP. In all circumstances, in the event of a variance between Town staff advice and the provisions of this RFP or addenda, the RFP and addenda shall control.
