Scorpio has been awarded the South Sumter New Classroom Building for Sumter County Schools and is accepting final GMP proposals. The project is located in Webster, FL. The project is broken into 3 phases, with the 1st phase already complete. As of June 14, 2024, the construction manager is working through bids received and permitting is in process. Bidding for all other bid packages is closed. Feedback on bids will be provided once all bids are in and the project is approved by the owner. Phase 2 consists of building demolition, site demolition, earthwork, site utilities, paving of a new student drop-off lane, installation of a new fire main, and landscaping. Phase 3 consists of the construction of a new 10,416 SF classroom building and includes the following trades: cast-in-place concrete, masonry, structural steel, cold-formed metal trusses, casework, waterproofing, roofing, insulation, doors, frames, & hardware, storefront & glazing, metal framing & drywall, stucco, acoustical ceilings, painting & coatings, flooring, toilet accessories, signage, walkway canopies, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, audio/visual, and access control. . As of April 12, 2024, the following information has been released by the Construction Manager: Bid manuals including bid scope forms for Phases 2 and 3 are attached. Please complete the bid form on page 3, the general requirements on page 4, and the bid scope sheet for your trade. Do not include bid scope sheets for trades you are not bidding. A reminder that Phase 2 is for site-related trades including sitework and fencing. Phase 3 is for all trades related to the building. Construction is anticipated to start in July 2024 and take approximately 8 months. All proposals over $50,000 must be SEALED and delivered to Travis Davies, c/o Sumter County School Board, 301 West McCollum Ave. Bushnell, FL 33513. Proposals under $50,000 may be emailed to bids@scorpioco.com. No late bids will be accepted for any reason, either by sealed bid or email. Pricing must be held for 90 days.
