Plant Construction and UCB are seeking responses to a Bid from Trade Subcontractors interested in bidding the Fencing and Gates scope on the contract for the UCB Emeryville Optometry Clinic Tennant Improvement, Emeryville, California. Plant Construction and UCB are facilitating the bid package that will be administered through Plant and Contracted with UCB directly. Plant Construction seeks trade contractors with significant experience in coordination and Fencing and Gates projects that are substantial in size and involve challenging logistical conditions and aggressive schedules. The scope of work will be to participate in coordination and execution of the complete scope listed in the trade's breakdown and contract documents for the Project. Contractors must hold valid contractors' licenses registered with DIR and must provide ability to obtain corporate surety (payment & performance) bonds and insurance in order to be eligible for the Bid evaluation. Plant Construction will hold 2 pre-bid site walks per the schedule above and an additional online Bid Orientation meeting via Microsoft teams. All bidders need to attend at least 1 of the 3 meetings to be considered eligible to bid. Pre-bid Estimate: $34,000 // Licenses Required: C-13 OR CLS B Bidding RFIs due by 2:00 PM, no exceptions March 19th, 2024 Bidding RFI responses to be distributed March 26th, 2024 The University intends to cover this project, and all eligible Contractors and Subcontractors of all tiers contracted to perform work at this at this project, under its University Controlled Insurance Program (UCIP). The UCIP provides workers compensation, general liability and excess umbrella liability insurance coverage to all enrolled Contractors and Subcontractors of any tier for work performed at the project site. The project specific UCIP manual can be found online. Plant reserves the right to reject any or all responses to the bid. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University Policy. Numbers will be read out to determine who is considered the lowest responsible bidder. Please note that additional reviews for each of the submitted bids will be conducted to confirm that the bidders have met all requirements. Then the final selection will be posted within 5 days after bid opening. After the formal bid results are posted, bidders will have a maximum of 5 days to issue a protest. All protests beyond that date will not be recognized. Trade Contractors will be invited directly via electronically and shall submit their pricing.
