The project includes Milling and Asphalt Paving in selected sections of local streets in the Borough of New Brighton, PA. The Borough of New Brighton reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the best interest of the Borough. All work must be completed in 60 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP). Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, bank check, money order or bidder surety bond in the amount specified in instructions to bidders as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into, and its performance properly secured. A bid security in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. A Performance Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties, for the protection of the Owner, shall be executed in a penal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. A Payment Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties for the protection of persons furnishing material and labor of the work shall be executed in a penal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. In addition to the contract security noted above, a Maintenance Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties in a penal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and shall guarantee against defective or inferior materials or workmanship which may develop during the period of two (2) years from the date of the completion and acceptance of work performed under each contract.
