The RM of Mount Pleasant No. 2 is seeking quoatations on 2.5 miles of Class 7 road clay capping Road will be raised a minimum of 10-12" with suitable material on existing road. Suitable material will be placed in 5" lifts & compacted until a smooth finished surface is capable of supporting traffic. Road will be crowned 4% from centerline to shoulder of road. Rocks 80 mm in dimension or larger will be removed from surface as each lift of clay is laid, so as to have a rock free surface. Installation of new culverts or replacement of existing culverts will be determined by the contractor and approved by the R.M. Councillor/Foreman. Culverts will be supplied to the job site. After the tender is awarded the Contractor will consult with the R.M. Administrator to coordinate a culvert order for the project. In the event that the initial culvert order does not meet the requirements for the project and additional culverts are needed, the Contractor is responsible to provide a secondary list of specifications, and the procurement of these additional culverts must be planned with the R.M. Administrator prior to obtaining them so strict records can be kept. No culverts are to leave the R.M. Yard without approval from a R.M. Employee. Preparation of suitable culvert bed, proper elevation, crown and proper backfilling and compaction with suitable material will be required. Culvert Removal: Salvage of old culverts will be determined by the R.M. Councillor/Foreman. Gravel/Clay: The R.M. will supply the gravel and clay for this project. The contractor will be responsible to haul clay a maximum of 2 miles. Approaches: Width will be 40 foot with wide flares onto road to allow for wide loads Leveling of side slopes, ditches, back slopes and around borrow pits. Replacing and levelling of topsoil. Picking and disposing of rocks over 80 mm in diameter.
