The work consists of the following major items: Part A: Seal coating approximately 115,345 square yards of streets at various locations within the City of Garden City Part B: 43,816 gallons (minimum) CRS-1h Asphalt Emulsion Part C: 1,560 tons of gravel CM-A cover material, delivered Part B & C are tied with part A contractor Each bidder shall state in his proposal his name, place of residence and his exact post office address, and the names and addresses of all persons or parties interested with them therein. Anyone signing a proposal as an agent for another must file with the proposal acceptable evidence of their authority to do so. Bidders are requested to be present at the opening of the bids. All proposals shall be made and received with the expressed understanding that the bidders accept the terms and conditions contained in these instructions, in the specifications, Contract and bond forms attached hereto. Part A bidder is required to deposit with his proposal and acceptable bidding bond, or a certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid as a guarantee that he will file all bonds required and enter into a Contract, should it be awarded to them according to the terms of their bid, within thirty (30) days after the certification of the award. Should the Contractor fail to file approved surety bonds or enter into a Contract with the City of Garden City, Kansas, the bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages, and the money realized therefrom be turned in to the City Treasury. Only the Part A contractor is required to furnish bonds. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
